Monarch Heating & Cooling

UI/UX - Web Design

Monarch is an HVAC client based in Montana. As part of their new client signup at BxB Media, Monarch requested a new website design. Monarch catered to some higher end clientele and was looking for a design that stood out and amplified their brand. The client, a veteran himself, requested look and feel to be gender neutral, with a slight emphasis on American pride. The goal of their site:

  • A unique site design catered slightly toward a higher income bracket through incorporating modern design house imagery.

  • Emphasize Montana in their site design.

  • Veteran owned American company.

  • Use of Black, white, blue, and red.

Header

Using brand guidelines and BxB’S best practices for web design I created a bold, streamlined header to grab customer’s attention to Monarch’s goal: scheduling services. I wanted the site to feel a bit like a journey, that the client was in a home in the natural landscape in Montana. I started in the banner with a mountain peak in Montana, with a vector treeline that emerges on scroll animation.

Visual Design

Gathering inspiration for Monarch included imagery of wooded contemporary houses, nature images of Montana, veteran and male imagery in a wooded interior setting. I used their Buck brandmark as a design element to reinforce branding. I played with blending sections and organic section separators to push a more naturalistic feel.

Web Design

Following BxB company guidelines and formatting for user experience and SEO best practices I constructed two prototypes for Monarch. I worked closely with both the in-house marketing coach and developers to ensure client satisfaction.
